Hi, I’m Sem Barendse. I’m 21 years old and I finished my bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Amsterdam last year. I decided to take a year off to focus on other passions beside studying, such as traveling and sports. I am going to Switzerland to teach young people how to ski in December and in March of next year I will spend 4 months exploring the southeastern region of Asia.
I have always been interested in the medical world and how the people in this world use new technology to develop new cures. My study enabled me to explore the front lines of new medical developments and now I’m even more determined to participate.
My Science Bus partner is Freek. We’ve known each other for two years. During our time together, we’ve made over 60 vlogs for the Dutch scientific program, Galileo, which aired daily on the national channel, RTL5. In these small clips, we experimented with everything we were able to get our hands on, often resulting in unscripted chaos.
Want to watch our vlogs? You can see them here!
We’ll fly to Madrid the 13th of October and from there we will visit Switzerland and France.
